Continuing Dad’s Mission of Feeding Poor Children

My father, Clarito Obod, had a vision of helping poor children get an education and break free from the cycle of poverty. Last June 2006, he founded HOPE Scholarship Program, a local program providing sponsorship to two poor children and providing assistance for their educational needs. At present, through the partnership of Fullness in Christ Inc, we are sending more than 60 poor children to school, including more than 20 Badjao children. With the vision of not just providing their educational needs but also feeding them, we have incorporated the feeding program in the said scholarship program. Seeing the need of a center where we can feed all the children, including other poor children who may not be in school but would like to drop by and get a meal, he started the construction of a two-storey building last April 2017 which will serve as a Feeding Center for the children. Unfortunately, my father suffered a stroke resulting to blod clot in the brain and enlargement of the heart last June 18 and was confined in the hospital for a week, being in ICU for 3 days. The medical expenses became such a burden. Even when he was out of the hospital, he still needs to be in bedrest for two weeks with continuous medication and therapy for a month or more. Despite this condition, the dream of building the Feeding Center has always been in my father's heart. As a daughter who understands the heart of her father, I am starting this campaign to help finance and continue the construction of the Feeding Center which is already halfway through the construction. I know nothing will make my father happier than to see happy children enjoying a good meal from the Feeding Center. As it is every father's desire to see his child's dream come true, it is also a daughter's desire to see her father's dream come true. May you also share our vision of helping others.
