Campaign Story
Dear Friends and Family, to mark my 50th birthday next year, I decided to do something worthwhile and unforgettable.
I am embarking on the Camino di Santiago with a wonderful group of people to raise money for the building of schools in Ethiopia and Phillipines. This Camino will take place between 20th-27th April 2023 where we will walk 125km in 5 days from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela.
SIGMA Foundation is organising this Camino under the guidance of the very enthusiastic and energetic Keith Marshall. One of the major projects is the construction of a school in Bonga in southwest Ethiopia. Works to complete the kindergarten and primary school are at an advanced stage. The next part of the project is the building of the secondary school. This is very special as it will be named after Rebecca Zammit Lupi (daughter of well known photojournalist Darren Zammit Lupi) who passed away at a very young age due to an illness.
I myself am training actively with determination and commitment to take part in this Camino. Raising funds for educational purposes is of great importance and a fundamental right to children across the world.
On my own I certainly cannot change the world but your help we can together change the world of under-privilged children
I also invite you to watch a very inspirational interview with Keith Marshall
