Dear citizens of the world,
We are a group of students from Panyarat High School promoting a project called “Community Support Camp PHS Grade 11 - Rural School, Thailand” where we, as a group - thirty two students and three teachers. We are looking to help students which are in rural areas of Thailand, as stated within the title, as a way to assist younger generations to develop a bright future, a strong one. This voluntary work comes from our free time, student work and study group as one class. Furthermore, we have done these activities several times within two whole years. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has caught our attention and we are stuck in quarantine two times.
Each year, at our school - Panyarat High School- Grade 11 students are tasked with raising money and collecting money to help a disadvantaged rural primary school in Thailand. The school is in an area that relies on Tourism for money, and during the recent COVID-19 pandemic the community has been hit hard. The families work in the tourism industry, or are fishing families that no longer have a market to sell to.
Our plan is to visit the school and renovate their playground area. We need money for paints and materials, rubber flooring, new children’s toys. We have designed games that can be painted onto the floor of the playground and murals that will go on the walls to make the playground a more child friendly learning area. At our school, when we return, students will bring in donations of clothes, toys, books etc. The funds raised will help us to complete our community support camp project. Any additional funds will be contributed toward their ongoing library fund.
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools are closed and our fundraising efforts are hampered. Undeterred, we have decided to try and raise funds using online methods, this and a campaign on Instagram are our main sources of income for this year’s fundraising.
