community awareness

The purpose of the Community Awareness project is to provide Health Science students with the opportunity to:

-Develop a project to promote community awareness using health issues that may be of a local community
or of national interest.
-Assist communities to become more aware of the pros and cons of the health issue  selected. 

-Promote goodwill and public relations for volunteers and local communities
-Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the project on the community.

Description

Community Awareness is a service project designed to raise community awareness of a health related issue of local communities and addresses one specific health issue that  needs concern and makes a worthwhile contribution to the community.

The project shall have  a direct relationship  to Health Science Education for communities  Activities are then planned to make the community aware of the health issue. Each activity as it is planned,conducted and evaluated When the project is completed, a portfolio is drawn  that documents and explains the project and activities.

The project selected will address one specific health issue, that needs  concern that  will make a worthwhile impact on the community; and shall  have a direct relationship to the organization's purposes and to Health Science Education

The project shall  demonstrate the  ability to work  with other school groups, community groups and/or volunteers to

achieve the goals of the project.
