Coast To Coast – Nakasendo Way Charity Walk

The Challenge

The Nakasendo Way is approximately 534 kilometers (350 miles) in length or 135ri in the ancient Japanese distance measurement (1ri = 3.9km), which was based on how far a person carrying a load could walk in one hour. Whilst only parts of the original route exist today my aim is to walk as close to that route as possible.

The journey would take people around 19 days and as I am carrying a lot less weight than they had to carry I aim to take 14 days. I intend to start on July 9^th and finish on July 22^nd.
