On August 16th I will be taking on a new Coast To Coast challenge in conjunction with International Volunteer Group (IVG) here in Japan. The goal being to raise much needed funds for the Yokohama Children’s Hospice Project, which like so many other Charities around the world have seen their abilities to fund raise severely curtailed by the pandemic.

Yokohama Children’s Hospice project aims to provide support for children with life limiting or life threatening diseases and their families. In Japan these children are not recognised as disabled and so receive very little if any support from the government. The support of the hospice enables these children to reach their maximum potential and make every moment sparkle. The hospice project provides much needed support for those families whose children have sadly passed on. The physical hospice providing a home away from home for these families is scheduled to open in the Autumn.
I encourage you to visit their homepage and read the founders inspirational story. He sadly lost his own daughter when she was only 6 years old.

The Route this year will start in Numazu, Yamanashi prefecture and end at Itoigawa Beach, Niigata on the other side of Japan, approximately 310KM away. The route also includes the ascent and descent of Mount Fuji. I aim to complete the journey in 6 days.

I would deeply appreciate any possible support and encouragement you can give and together in some small way contribute to a brighter future for these children and their families.

Thank you so much.
