Climb For cancer

On November 28th 2013, a group of 8 Climb For Cancer Volunteers will be attempting to summit Mt Kilimanjaro to raise funds and awareness for a UAE based cancer patient called Shahad, referred by Friends Of Cancer Patients.

Who is Shahad?

                                                   Shahad Hussam is a 9-year old girl suffering from a brain tumor and getting radiation and chemotherapy treatment in the Tawam Hospital (Abu Dhabi). Her only hope of cure would be to have financial support to have a brain surgery at the Meo Clinics in Germany.

The estimated cost of her treatment is AED 300,000 to cover medical charges, 19 days accommodation, meals, interpretation of surgery and Brain Surgery.

Climb for Cancer: 2014 Team

Climb for Cancer (climbforcancer.org) is a non-profit initiative that encourages hikers and adventure enthusiasts to climb mountain peaks around the world in an effort to raise awareness for children suffering from cancer.  We plan trips for volunteers that come together once a year to climb a challenging mountain peak in an effort to support specific cases of pediatric cancer patients.

Friends of Cancer Patients

FOCP (focp.ae), a charitable, volunteer-based foundation operating as a specialized entity under the umbrella of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah. It was established during 1999 in accordance with the directives and under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed AI-Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and wife of the Ruler of Sharjah.
