The effects of climate change are more easily seen on small island communities within the Caribbean region. From the lost of Land Mass, failing agriculture to depleting marine resources the effect of climate change are present everywhere.This initiative is to continue the process of adaption and mitigation methods necessary for us to survive and thrive in our climatic conditions.

In the past there has been the building of Sea walls to protect the coastline, replanting of trees to replenish our depleted forest landscape, building of check dams in our water sheds( Also to reduce soil erosion which is dispersed on the nearby reefs).

All of these initiatives we great but the on the scale on which they were done was not large enough to make a great impact.

We are also a fishing community and the dying reefs means also lost of livelihoods to local residents. Fishers now go further out than before and usually have to increase their expenditures to gain a proper livelihood

By donating to this project you will assist me:

- Improve the number frequency of education and awareness sessions with the School and the community

-Beach profiling and restoration efforts

- Assist in the reforestation efforts

- Building check dams to reduce soil deposits on the nearby reef

-Helping our coastal community to protect and repair our damaged shoreline

-Building and Repair of coral reef in the Madam Pierre area to revive our marine Biodiversity

-Provision of an MPA after the completion of the project to ensure our efforts are maintained

-Provide alternative livelihoods for persons living within in the MPA area

-Hiring of staff to care for MPA

-purchasing of equipment to be used in the MPA

-Building of plant nursery to house the plants

-Procurement, and transportation of mangrove seedlings to the island

-Creation of employment for local community

-Creation of natural habitats for Birds, Fish and other wildlife

Area in need of coastal protection

The main road is just above this area and posses a serious threat to in the near future if some intervention is not done i.e coastal protection

Check dam building to reduce erosion using local Knowledge
