Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training 2014

Project Background

The climate reality project organized a 3 day training for climate reality leadership corps due to take place from 12th - 14th March 2014 in Johannsburg South Africa. 

As a member (Chairperson) of Strengthening Community Response Efforts (SCORE), a community based organization operating in Uganda to conserve the environmnet and reduce climate change effects, i applied to attend this training. The Good news is that my application was approved and therefore, been invited to attend the 3 day leaders training. The training organizers only cover conference fees and materials while the participant is supposed to cover travel, accommodation and other expenses. 

Problem

The proble is that as a young organization, we do not have funds to facilitate this training.

 Purpose

The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise $3520 to facilitate me to attend the 2014 Climate reality leadership corps traing for Africa. 

Benefits

i will be able to share experiences with climate reality experts like AL GORE, former Vice President of US and Chairman of Climate reality Project, learning new skills from experts on climate change, Participatin in the formulation of the Global Action Plan 2014 for climate change.

Outputs

The knowledge, skills and exposure acquired will be shared with the CBO members, communities and Media through workshops and seminars, presentations, articles in the press, implementing planned actions, comparing notes with other leaders and inspiring many more members to become climate reality leaders. 

Impact

More trees planted, increased awareness about climate change, more people engaged in agro-forestry, effects of climate change reduced, increased vegetation cover and increased timber, fuel wood and peoples' incomes and welbeing.
