In the light of the Christmas season, ChristMASAYA strives to strengthen the youth's participation in nation building by encouraging them to engage in genuine acts of kindness in their everyday lives through simple, attainable means. Reliving the true essence of Christmas, the project aims to promote and inculcate social awareness and social responsibility upon which we can call for an action to attend to financial, physical, emotional, and spiritual poverty.
We believe that it can be done everyday in the spirit of the Christmas season.
We believe that it can be done everyday.
We believe that it can be done.
We believe. And it all begins from there.
With the motto, "With Christ, it's always MASAYA", we want to instill the idea that with strong humanity, collective action, and deep Christian faith comes alive the dreams of a nation free from the hopelessness plaguing the society.
The Aeta community of Angeles City, Philippines situated at Sitio Target, Sapang Bato is one of the most overlooked and ignored indigenous groups in the country.
They have stayed there long before the American colonizers arrived. Before the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1990, there were only about 30 families living in the area. The community grew when Aetas from affected areas such as Tarlac and Nueva Ecija evacuated at Sitio Target with the help of the Benedictine sisters. Today, there are nearly 200 families residing in the area.
The growing community is challenged by the exclusive economic growth strategy in the region. The Aetas are deprived of good livelihood opportunities as foreign individuals take advantage of their lack of education.
Through relentless efforts and unwavering support for the community, the project aims to continuously open doors for and ignite hope among the Aetas. ChristMASAYA seeks to inspire and ignite the spirit of giving that will help Aetas, particularly the youth, to thrive in life.
Your generous contributions will be meaningful in providing the community with enough school supplies, clothes, livelihood crops, medicines, and other necessities.
