Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I'm Jane from Philippines. A pet lover, I want to share to all of you about my dog Chichi. He's a street dog. I found him last Feb. 2015 on an internet shop near our house, just 1 kilometer away.

Recently, something happen to him. And it bothers me big time. :(
Last 4 days ago, we were shocked by what our dog Chichi manifested. His legs were shaking involuntarily, had teary eyes with mucus secretion and his body temp is high (he has a fever). I honestly don't know what to do about it. I have no clue.
As much as I want to send him to a vet, it's really costly. Just to ease my anxious mind, I search on google for possible answer and diagnosis. To my anticipation, I had found out a search match for his illness. It's called "Canine Distemper."
(Excerpts from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canine_distemper)
Canine distemper (sometimes termed hardpad disease in canine) is a viral disease that affects a wide variety of animal families, including domestic and wild species of dogs, coyotes, foxes, pandas, wolves, ferrets, skunks, raccoons, and large cats, as well as pinnipeds, some primates, and a variety of other species.
The signs within the central nervous system include a localized involuntary twitching of muscles or groups of muscles, seizures often distinguished by salivation, and jaw movements commonly described as "chewing gum fits", or more appropriately as "distemper myoclonus". As the condition progresses, the seizures worsen and advance to grand mal convulsions followed by death of the animal. The animal may also show signs of sensitivity to light, incoordination, circling, increased sensitivity to sensory stimuli such as pain or touch, and deterioration of motor capabilities. Less commonly, they may lead to blindness and paralysis. The length of the systemic disease may be as short as 10 days, or the start of neurological signs may not come until several weeks or months later. Those few that survive usually have a small tic or twitch of varying levels of severity. With time, this tic will usually diminish somewhat in its severity.[
After researching to google, I went on Youtube to see dogs that have Canine Distemper. I discovered this channel : KindHeartsInAction https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUIFS3ZgmVLkrvt1w...
Their website : http://kindheartsinaction.com/
We are a nonprofit that has helped save the lives of hundreds of dogs from distemper around the world. We need donations and support to scientifically demonstrate that dogs do not have to die from this disease.
To seek help and assistance. I hurriedly emailed Sir Ed of KindHeartsInAction. He is Project director on canine distemper .
He was quick to response and had given me advice. He mentioned about nearly 50 percent survival rate for dogs in the neuro stage. As my dog Chichi manifested already localized involuntary twitching of muscles.
He explained further:
Usually, if we have the best chance of survival if it can be treated with the NDV serum before going through the sixth day of symptoms. Beyond that, it is likely to become a neurologic case, and hard to treat.
Also sent out names of Vets and their location. Most of them are in Luzon area. I am far way from Luzon. Davao City is part of Mindanao.
Here's the actual map for the distance:
The cost of the NDV serum and the treatment is around $200 (every visit for the serum injections)
My problem is that I don't have that huge amount of money to be able to send Chichi to the Vets to get treatment and sessions also with the transportation.
Sir Ed had said to try crowdfunding. To seek financial help. That's why I am here.
We need $200 for the medical check up plus treatment and the other $200 for the transportation from Davao to Manila.
You all know, Chichi is not a pure breed dog as he is a street dog "askal". As to some may say, why waste our money in donating for that kind of dog? I could only say Chichi is family. We love him and we care for him. We will do anything for a family member, right?
We hope to get medical help for Chichi soon.
The amount on this campaign is just an estimation.Whatever cost maybe raise through this, it will be of great help.
From the bottom of my heart,
Thank for sharing your blessings.
