I'm knocking on the door of your heart!

Last October 2017, my mother Victorina C. Balingcasag, 66 years old was admitted due to pneumonia but one month after the said hospitalization, she experienced difficulty in defecation and there was blood during each bowel evacuation. This prompted us to seek medical advise from a gastroenterologist and ordered my mother to undergo a colonoscopy along with other laboratory test such as ct scan. After a week of waiting, we had received the dreadful result of the biopsy that was taken from my mother and it was indeed malignant. The doctor confirmed that it is colorectal cancer and surgery is to be performed as soon as possible. My mother cannot accept and her mind went blank to the devastating result that was explained to her by the doctor.

To fast track the series of events, my mother was readmitted last August 26, 2018 due to high fever, vomiting and abdominal pain and several laboratory tests were ordered by the physician. She was confined for 22 day at Visayas Community Medical Center Hospital, Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines.

These were the surgeries and procedures preformed to my mother last September 4,2018: Exploratory laparotomy, Evacuation of abscess, Sigmoidectomy hartmann's procedure appendectomy and Subtotal hysterectomy and Bilateral Salphingoophorectomy.

She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer - Intraabdominal Abscess Secondary to Perforated Rectosigmoid Masd Probably Malignant Stage IIIB (T4N1MO) with Right Tuboovarian Abscess (Culture : Enterococcus Faecalis).

This last week of September 2018, is her schedule for another laboratory test from abdominal ct scan, lipid panel, cbc and more. And also for the preparation of her first session of Chemotheraphy on the second week of October 2018.

All financial help from our family has been exhausted. Currently, she is not able to support herself anymore with all these accumulated medical bills.

In our effort to help my mother with this financial burden, we had launched this fundraising campaign through GoFundMe organization.

Any donation or financial support you are going to give will greatly appreciated.

I am quite sure that we all know someone whose life has been forever changed by this relentless disease. I know mine has through my mother Victorina Balingcasag.
