Campaign Story
CARE is a non-profit organization which started rescuing and helping animals, mainly stray dogs and cats, in Dumaguete City since 2016. It has the shelter Facebook page www.facebook.com/careanimalshelter and advocacy page www.facebook.com/careanimaladvocacy. Its website is www.careanimaladvocacy.org.
CARE needs help on its basic expenses which are listed below:
1. Current rescues food with costs range from Php5,000 to Php10,000 per month. Rescues are dogs and cats who were victims of maltreatment, road accidents, abandoned, and those who are supposed to be euthanized by the city vet.
2. Shelter maintenance which involves shelter caretaker of Php4,000 per month and shelter rent of Php3,000 for a lot in Pansil, Sibulan, Negros Oriental having an area of around 2,500 square meters. Actually structures inside the location is not yet fully reconstructed as the organization is still on the process of finding sponsors for dog and cat kennels.
3. Veterinary bills which includes bills of emergency rescues, vaccines and funds for spay and neuter. In the month of October this year until now, it has rescues confined at Cats & Dogs Vet Clinic on dogs with cancer and the severely mangy one. Commonly, on average, our vet bills in the clinic ranges from Php20,000 - Php55,000 per month, depending on the rescue status.
We can only continue the advocacy if we have enough resources as we don't want to end up in debts too. Everyday we are receiving rescue reports and even seeing injured/dead animals on the road. We are doing this work to help these helpless animals while we are working on pushing our goals to have a collaboration with the government to have a zero stray in the next year to come
Your support can help save many lives of these stray dogs and cats...
