Anders needs Immunotherapy treatment to fight the cancers in his body, so that he has a hope of seeing his three young adult children grow into their lives.

The Immunotherapy drug Keytruda had a 100% match with Ander’s lung biopsy, but Keytruda is only funded for melanoma treatment in New Zealand. So we have to pay for it ourselves. It will cost NZ$10,000 per injection, and Anders has been recommended to have ten treatments every three weeks.

He has just had his fourth chemotherapy treatment, with two more to go. Thankfully chemotherapy is funded by the New Zealand health system. The chemotherapy treatment for Anders will be completed by the end of October. After that the Oncologists will tell us the timeline for the Immunotherapy treatment. So, we need financial help for the immunotherapy to go ahead.

The first dose of chemotherapy for 2019 resulted in Ander's hospitalization with life threatening elevated glucose levels and a prolonged extremely high heart rate.

On 12th July Anders was in such a deteriorated state that the Oncologist gave him no chance of a second chemotherapy treatment and only three weeks to live! But, Anders is strong and has fought back.

He was discharged in surprisingly good health from hospital 5 days later! Anders has had prayer support internationally. We are very grateful. He is surrounded by a loving family. He has much to live for.

Anders is now responding extremely well to chemotherapy. After his second chemo treatment he had a CT Scan which showed that the cancer in his liver has gone! His lung cancer has halved, and the pelvis cancer appears to be in remission, but the lymphoma cancers are still active.

He needs Immunotherapy to build on the work of the chemotherapy and help his body to flourish. Otherwise the fight so far will have only been for months, not years. Years is what Anders is aiming for.
