Caleb Ngigi Brain Surgery Fund

I am Raphael Ngigi from Nairobi, Kenya, Caleb Ndungu Ngigi's father.He has been diagnosed with Craniopharyngioma, a brain tumor that affects children or old adults in their 60s. Caleb is 1 yr and 3 months.He has had a brain VP Shunt operation at Gertrude's Children hospital(www.gerties.org), an operation that costed Ksh.600,000.This was a preparatory surgery aimed at draining the excess brain fluid which had started building too much pressure on the brain.The neurosurgeon has referred him for the major surgery at Mp Shah(http://mpshahhosp.org/) and we are seeking help to cater for the bill which the doctor has approximated to be between Ksh 1,000,000 - Ksh.2,000,000 based on how he will respond in the ICU: worst case recorded ICU scenario so far has been 6 weeks.

My wife works with the National Police Service who switched their medical cover this month to NHIF who have not given us adequate assistance with this referral case; since the Neurosurgeon cites that he can only operate in a hospital with a microscope due to the location of this tumor(it is touching brain capillaries); MP shah or Agha Khan.We are therefore seeking for medical appeal so that we can give our son a chance to be a healthy child and he will possibly one day save a child with a similar condition.
