At Buku Bersama, we've came up with an interesting program to help kids around Cirebon to improve and develop their literary skills!
Our plan consist of help teach them how to write great stories and from there we'll compile them to one big book for donators to read and to be sold online. All profits that are made from selling the books will be given back towards the authors and each to support the website and the program itself.
The first part of the plan is to help improve students literary skills by revising their works in a 4 week process. How we plan on commenting their works and how it can be improved. For the first week, we would have a lecture with the students about does stories work and what makes them interesting. Between the first and second week, We would ask them to start making a quick summary of the story they're planning on writing, focusing on the introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and the conclusion. On the second week, we would advise and check their short summaries and comment on how to improve on them. Between the second and third week, they would start working on their first draft and on the third week we would comment on their first draft by firstly giving compliments on what they're good at and which parts of the story needs improvement. Between the third and last weeks, the students will work on their final draft. On the last week, we would congratulate all the students and give them a pat on the back for all the hard work they're put in. I would also like to remind that all of the students are free to ask any questions to us and even have zoom meetings or google meetings anytime we are available.
The second part of the plan is to compile all their works into one wonderful book which we plan to be sold on national e-commence websites such as Tokopedia or Shopee. We also plan to selling them internationally through google play store or Amazon kindle. Through all the revenue that we recieve from selling this book, we plan to donating it all back to the students that put in their hard work and writing these stories or, if the students wish to, donate to charities of their choice.
With a simple $5 donation, you could have the first edition of the compilation of short storties sent to you digitally. Since we're a small group, printing out the books will be prove to be difficult and as a result, we plan on giving you, the kind donators, a PDF file to read the first edition.
