My name is Mr. Arifin. I am a teacher, at Long Sait Primary School, located somewhere in the deep interior, rural area of Sarawak, Borneo (Malaysia). You can google for "SK Long Sait" in Google Maps. For your information, I need this crowdfunding because this school lacks everything it should have compared to the schools located in urban areas. We don't have computers, we don't have tablets, we don't even have a stable, reliable internet connection. Hence, to enable the kids here to enjoy the similar education exposures towards IT like their peers in urban schools, we definitely need all of those IT gadgets and internet connection as well.
A sum of money is needed to purchase computers, LCD projectors and power backups. An internet VSAT satellite subscription is needed as well. We hoped that, with such funding, we should be able to ultimately bringing IT to them, the rural kids, to enjoy learning using technologies. I am simply unable to see any viable reason not to allow them to learn and even to explore the world using technologies just because the government is financially unable to help them any.
Even with $1, you have done a great help to these kids here. Even we don't get the funding target, we would try something else to get this done with. I don't believe in textbooks and traditional classroom, blackboard fashion of learning. I believe in a more interactive, demanding and tech-savvy ways to provide the kids here, their needs, not simply just to learn, but to explore, to innovate and to communicate with all kids around the world. Their learning should not be bound with any limitations or borders or restrictions. Only the sky, and their imagination is their limit.
Let's you, me and everyone who saw this post, share this crowdfunding idea, spread it, help the kids here to get what they should be having 10 years ago since the booming of IT ages.
Let's us all, bringing IT to the kids in rural Sarawak, of Borneo.
