I'm glad you're here. I have such great news to share with you! I have been invited to speak at this years American Youth Circus Festival.
A little background on me. I'm Max Barnaby, my circus training began at San Francisco Circus Center, in California, US of A.
In 2015, I left my home in California. After driving two week, I arrived at a picturesque Caribbean village. Here, I set up my tents and started a afterschool program. Daily, I offer training in acrobatics, clowning, juggling, and trapeze. And through monthly workshops, summer camps, and annual festivals, we've brought over 200 teachers to the local kids.
In 2016, My work was recognized by Costa Rica's National Art program and they provided me with 10 days of training in their methodology of the formation of youth circus.
In 2017 & 2018, Along with 21 delegates from Central America, we received 80 hours of social circus training from Cirque du Soleil. Through this network of alliances, I've traveled throughout Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, and El Salvador, teaching circus arts to youth in vulnerable situations.
In 2019, I'm raising money to get to San Diego, to present my discoveries/findings before a group of peers. It is my intention to forge alliances, nurture coproductions, I aim to foster international conversations on our common problems [human trafficking, narcotics, plundering of resources].
