Thank God for my father's successful operation on 10 March 2018.

UPDATE: 04 January 2018

Happy New Year everyone. During these past few days, my father had been undergoing laboratory tests to obtain medical clearance for the brain surgery.

The laboratory results were fine except for his lungs. His tuberculosis is not fully healed yet. He will be continuing his medication until 13 February 2018.

Tentative date of operation will be on the 3rd week of February when he finish his tuberculosis treatment.

However, the surgery needs to be done right away if any of the following symptoms appear:

1. Numbness and weakness on the right side of his body

2. Convulsion/Seizure

The neurosurgeon would do angiogram and embolization prior to the surgery. Angiogram would check his blood vessels and would determine which certain blood supply needs to be blocked/embolized to prevent bleeding and minimise other risks.

Depending on the result of the angiogram, the initial cost could soar up to Php 250,000 ( around 5k US dollar).

We are very thankful to those who extended prayers and financial support. Words are not enough to thank you. May the good Lord multiply your blessings a thousand times more.

We are knocking on your generous hearts to raise funds for my 62-year-old father to remove the tumor on his brain called Meningioma.

Doctors advised him to undergo the operation ASAP because the tumor lies near the major veins of the brain. Even with the prescribed pain killers, my father is constantly in pain and can barely sleep nowadays.

The mass is relatively large and dense measuring 5.4 x 6.8 x 5.5 cm.

We were told to prepare at least Php 650,000 (around USD 13,000) initial cost if surgery is done in private hospitals in Cebu City.

With the high cost involved in private hospitals, we decided to have the operation done in a public hospital instead. The neurosurgeon told us to prepare minimum Php 150,000 ( USD 3,000) for the initial cost of surgery in public hospital. This amount would be mainly used to buy medicines needed for the operation.
