Help Grow a Ugandan Community with Clean Water!

Miriam’s favorite part of her day is school in Mbale, Uganda. She values her education, and her future.

However, her grades are poor, because she makes repeated 3-hour trips for clean water. She dedicates herself to everyday chores like farming, cooking, and washing, too. There is only so much time in the day.

But Miriam knows the danger of using unclean water. There is river water nearby, and many people become sick from drinking it. Some have even died.

But community water sources aren’t safe for women. Every day Miriam must decide between the safety of her family from water-borne diseases, or her own safety from gender-based violence.

Either way, she loves her family, and will take these long journeys if it means keeping the ones she loves safe. She willingly sacrifices her own education, or her own ability to generate an income.

Sadly, under her feet, Uganda is blessed with many underground water sources.

But she has no way to access this clean water by herself.

Your donation will give the gift of clean water to Miriam and many others that share her story!

Because of you, she won’t have to sacrifice her education, and can make an income to help support her loved ones. She will no longer have to fear long travels to unsafe places for survival.

This fundraiser will pay for a hydro-geologist to find nearby clean water and drill into it.
