The Proton Wira was first introduced in 1993. It has since become an icon of the Malaysian automotive industry living up to its name Wira, which loosely translates to Hero in English. The Proton "Hero" in question began its life in 2001 as a 1.5 Proton Wira. However, it has been blessed with a Mitsubishi made 4G93 engine which has been famously used as the engine for the legendary Lotus tuned Proton Satria GTI, producing a grand total of 138 BHP. The name of this car is Bodge.
I found this car at a dealership a couple weeks ago, instantly falling in love I decided that this car should be restored into its former glory and more. I have just finished some engine repairs, and the car is starting to run nicely but still has a long way to go.
I am on my Gap Year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as I was unable to travel due to COVID restriction which is why I have decided to take on this project. I hope with the money I can make while working I will be able to restore this car. However, there are still many things on this car that need repairing and I fear it will be harder than I first thought to execute this project in a way that should honour this automotive beast. This is why I have come to you for help, anything will be greatly appreciated.
I will be posting updates on Bodge's instagram account on what upgrades and repairs we are doing to Bodge. I will also be emailing updates so don't forget to add your emails.
Thank you so much,
