Campaign Story
"Mi, unsa imo ganahan ig Christmas/birthday nimo?" (Mom, what do you want for Christmas/ your birthday?)
"Okay ra ko nak. Malipay nako basta kompleto ta." (As long as we are complete, I am happy.)
My mom, Maria Luisa Alfafara has always been that supermom who puts her children first more than herself. She would be thrifty when it comes to her well-being but would be willing to spend when it comes to our health. Although I hope she can care more about herself, I am still proud of everything that she has done.
When Covid struck
It's now probably about a year since covid first struck the whole world. A new normal has started for most countries. Some have started to get back on their feet. Yet it is undeniable that covid-19 is still knocking on people's doors, including my family's.
Around the night of January 24, she started to show symptoms, saying she felt feverish. We first thought that the fever might have been due to UTI since she was showing some symptoms. Just when we were about to get her checked, her situation took a turn. My sister ended up rushing her to the nearest available hospital.
She is now being diagnosed with both Covid and Sepsis. Although her fever has subsided, she still has a lot of tests and treatments to undergo.
You can say that the road to recovery can come with a price. We have paid the downpayment of 30k, yet our bill keeps piling up. We sadly do not have much on hand.
We are still finding ways to make ends meet, but we really can't do it alone. We are knocking into your hearts for monetary donations. We believe that any amount will take us far.
