Rekindle PH

Rekindle is a recurring event aiming to bridge the gap between hesitating new artists and eager-to-help seasoned artists. It also serves as a venue for sharing of information and awareness through arts and expression; by-passing society’s norm. One of the aims of the event is to bring people in and promote a community where people from different art forms, beliefs and advocacy can co-exist harmoniously. Rekindle is an every-other-month event that began last October 2015, spearheaded by HAPI Bacolod. The still and ever growing team is composed of HAPI and non-HAPI members with an equally growing number of followers and target market.

Poetry and literature, spoken words, visual, digital, performance & improvised arts, original song compositions, stand-up comedy, and tattoo art are among the few areas of specialty that Rekindle has catered-to to date. It continuously welcomes more artists and performers to grace its events and also aims to bring out the behind-the-scene part of every art form; beyond the superficial and aesthetic value. Every artist is encouraged to share things they know that may help people understand their art form and themselves as artists as they share their inspirations, motivations, experiences, tips and advises; everything that may help fellow artists in and through the learning and personal development.

Rekindle has hosted a live tattoo session to educate people on the importance of cleanliness during the art’s process, as well as hip-hop performances without the accompanying music to show people the lyrical poetry behind it, to name a few. Most of all, Rekindle is an open mic event. The whole venue is a talent pool and a way for the team to connect with people. It hosts recurring and returning talents who have been frequenting the event since its inception.
