Campaign Story
Our beautiful Dan was diagnosed with stomach cancer at age 40. Tragically, 8 months later, the disease took his life.
Not in a million years could Dan or his wife Jo have seen this coming. There were no warning signs or family history to explain the diagnosis. He was a fit and healthy young man, they had just welcomed their third baby into the world. In one moment, life was perfect and then it wasn’t.
Dan was and still is, so loved. A loving and devoted husband to Joanna. A caring and gentle father to Josie, 6, Estelle, 3 and Remy 1. He was a deeply loved son, brother and friend who connected to so many people. He was one of those people that others just loved being around. He had a presence that resonates in all of the stories of his lifetime. It is his presence we miss every moment of every day.
There are no words for the loss of Dan in this world. Under stressful circumstances, Jo and the children are not only are trying to navigate life without him, they are also in a position where they would benefit from financial assistance. A modest life insurance policy has been declined a number of times by their insurance company. Jo is caring for her children full time and would like to stay with them as long as possible before returning to work herself. They've lost their Dad and now, more than ever they need their Mother with them to help process this immeasurable grief. All of the funds raised will go towards paying living expenses.
We appeal to you for your help with Dan's young family. Dan was an exceptional father and one who put his family above all else. He would be so blown away by the generosity of this community so far in everything they have done to help his family.
When you donate to this fund, you are honouring Dan and Jo in the most useful and practical of ways. Your support for Jo, Josie, Essie and Remy will enable them to live with as little financial burden as possible.
