Campaign Story
Ricardo Valera, a retired employee and a hardworking, devoted father of 3 has been suffering a serious heart condition for the past 3 years. He was supposed to undergo heart surgery but due to complications given his age and financial incapacity, he has not been able to undergo the procedure and his only option until now is to continue with oral medications to sustain his life. He's been in and out of the hospital for the past months due to infection, leg thrombosis and palpitations.
He is currently in the ICU and is in dire need of financial support from family and friends as until now, doctors are still running several tests to determine cause of sickness. Tatay Ricardo has been suffering from difficulty in breathing due to fluid build up in the lungs caused by pulmonary edema and pneumonia and financial support is needed to sustain his medical expenses and procedures. Any form of assistance will go a long way.

I imagine his writing board will be used less and less; bits of his usual jovial demeanor are slowly shining through. Again and a million times over, endless thanks to everyone
Slow progress but not yet out of the woods
Update posted by Rachelle Valera at 02:46 amDad has been responding well to antibiotics but his pneumonia and heart activity still need to be closely monitored. We have no idea how long he needs to stay in the ICU but we are strongly hopeful because he's showing good progress - and we hope and pray it will. . . . .
