Ashanti Gilharry: In Urgent Need Of Spine Surgery!

My name is Ashanti Gilharry and I am a young female suffering from a very rear, but serious Spine Condition that has dramatically been taking over my life.

The pain I'm suffering is a result of a fall I received in Elementary School and it has been getting worst as time goes by.

My entire Spine is out of place, and as a result, I have a curve in my Vertebral Column and this is causing my body to grow in an 'unusual' shape.

I experience a lot of symptoms which has been making my life a living hell!

For starters, I suffer from a burning pain and numbness in my lower back, pelvis area and tailbone. The pain also runs down to my legs and this has been occurring for as long as I can remember.

Another health issue I'm facing is that I cannot afford to gain weight at this point in time. If I do, it will add excess pressure on my Spine. Unfortunately, I run the risk of becoming paralyzed because of this!

I also suffer a lot of headaches. Additionally, on many days, my knees would give up on me; sometimes I would be walking and suddenly my knees would get very weak as if someone was literally pushing me to fall.

If that isn't enough, I cannot hold my bladder as any normal person can. Then there's the plague of constipation which haunts me like a bad dream. Both of these are because of the curvature of my Spine which rests internally on two of my major organs. I worry a lot about these issues because I know I can die without proper bowel and/or bladder movement.

What is also sad is that I am not able to bare a child at this point in time because my body would not be able to cope with the pain and excess weight of carrying a baby.

My only option is taking a surgery because my condition is far gone. I have reached a point where my health is only getting worst and the only thing left is for me to become paralyzed which is one thing that I sincerely hope will not happen. Only God and myself truly understand these battles I am faced with.

This is a very difficult time for me because I'm in need of a surgery but the kind of funds needed for my surgery is beyond anything I can afford, even with the local fundraising I have been attempting. Unfortunately for me, I do not have Medical Insurance so I am in a hopeless place.

Not only do I suffer from Physical pain, I also suffer a lot of Emotional pain. Many days I feel like I'm living a real-life nightmare and that nobody understands the extent of what I am being faced with. This makes me feel very depressed and hopeless in life.

Despite my condition, I try to keep a smile on my face and try not to complain too much because I would prefer not to be a burden to those around me.

Those who know me can say that I'm a very humble and caring person who would go out of my way to help anyone in need!

It really pains my heart to be in so much pain and not being able to do anything about it; especially with the fact that I have whole life ahead of me.

God knows that everything I have explained today is sincerely coming from my heart as it is in fact what I have been experiencing for a while now!

That is why I am humbly appealing to you for assistance. My dream is take my surgery so I can fix my Spine and I have a normal life like I honestly deserve.
