Bundancia (short for Abundancia - Abundance) is a wild mother who has moved onto Quinta das Moitas and made friends with my two boys Willi and Jobi. She has since given birth to 13 puppies on Quinta das Moitas.
13 is a sacred number, and a blessed number. We believe that each of these little creatures will bring great blessings of abundance to their new custodians. We've taken on the responsibility now to find them suitable carers, but in the mean time we need to keep them healthy and so we are looking for support in terms of financial donations if anyone is able and willing. We are currently spending about 20-30 euros a week as they begin wean off their mother and get them onto milk, oats, puppy food, meat off cuts from butchers and whatever else that we can find that's suitable. We would also like to raise enough to get Bunda operated on so that we can rest knowing that if she does continue to hang around then she won't go littering us with responsibilities :-)
We've worked out that we'd need about 300 euros to keep them fed until Xmas, at which point hopefully they will all have found homes. Any money left over will be used towards an operation for Bundancia.

Blackie is now looking for a new guardian.
Update posted by Fran Moulder at 11:12 amWe have everything crossed for the 4 remaining pups in the Vets recovering from Parvo. Due to a change in circumstances of the planned owner for Blackie, we are now looking for someone who would like to take care of this sweet pup. She is quite a shy dog who. . . . .
From Bad to Worse ...
Update posted by Millo Magnocavallo at 10:42 amOnly 1 or 2 days after Tai returned home from the vets. He suddenly stopped eating and soon after that he started throwing up any water that he drank, which then progressed onto yellow bile. It was so sad, and my heart was crying out to him. I pleaded for. . . . .
Emergency! Tai has been diagnosed with a broken Tibia and needs operation!
Update posted by Millo Magnocavallo at 10:05 pmThis morning we woke up to crys of pain from Tai :-(He didn't seem able to move. We took him inside and examined him and it seemed to me as though he was rearing his right rear leg to protect his rib cage area where we felt something but weren't. . . . .
Thank you! Next steps!!
Update posted by Millo Magnocavallo at 12:14 pmThank you all so much for donating!!! We're still receiving donations and that's great! We think we have owners assigned for all of the puppies now. Some may not be eventually picked up until January next year so we will continue to take care of them here on the farm. . . . .
6 remaining puppies are off on an adventure!

Some we will keep for longer, as requested by the future guardians. The great news is we now have homes for several puppies! Chunkalunk, the big fella below, is going to. . . . .
