Campaign Story
My niece Sreypich lives in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. On New Year's Day 2014 she celebrated her 11th Birthday. After exhibiting symptoms of vomiting and severe headaches an MRI scan revealed evidence of a brain tumour. Since January 11th she is being treated in the Kantha Bopha hospital in Cambodia's Capital Phnom Penh. Biopsies have been performed on her spine, stomach and brain. Due to the level of pain she is experiencing, a high risk operation is scheduled for Saturday morning of January 18th.
Her family are by no means wealthy and my wife and I are doing all that we can financially but it is not enough. Doctors have emphasised that the recuperation period can be in the region of 4 months. The outcome of this operation is unclear so the family are uncertain as to what they will face. Monies raised will be used for basic daily living and food costs for Sreypich, her mother and grandmother as they are having to survive 150 miles away from home. In the event that Sreypich becomes physically or mentally impaired after her operation it will help to provide equipment and a transition to a new way of life.
Sreypich is a very clever, funny and loving little girl and has been excelling at studying English. In the sad and devastating event that she passes on, funds will be used to let other impoverished children gain a vital passion for education in her loving memory.
