Thanks to the generosity of family, friends, and complete strangers, we reached our base goal of $5,000 on June 19th, less than 2 weeks after we created the site for Carmen.

I cannot tell you how much this means to all of us! We are overwhelmed by the kindness of your assistance; thank you for touching our lives! 

Some additional information: a brand new van like a Toyota Sienna (base model) costs about $24,000.

A Chrysler Town and Country (base model) costs closer to $29,500. 

Getting the vehicle outfitted will cost around $12,000, but there are programs in place which can assist with this cost. However, they will only outfit a new or low mileage vehicle.

$5,000 is a considerable dent in the cost of getting Carmen mobile again, but don't assume that the battle is over!
