First Update: Exceeded Target but Troubles with PayPal

Update posted by Jillian Fersancourt

Liezl is super happy to know they will have their house ready in time for baby's arrival in March.

Liezl is super happy that their house will be ready in time for her baby's arrival in March!

First of all, I’d like to give a big thank you to all the people who have donated so far. We are really touched by your kindness and generosity. We have exceeded our target! This is yet to be reflected on this campaign page because PayPal has put these donations on hold for the moment.

Second of all, I would like to inform you that, on top of putting these donations on hold, PayPal has decided to temporarily suspend my account, for no valid reason. I had given them all of the requirements when I opened the account prior to starting this campaign, and they had informed me of their approval. I have no idea of their sudden reason for this suspension.

For those of you who would like to donate, I request for you to hold off on this for now. I am doing my best to deal with PayPal’s decision that has affected this campaign. I will update here as soon as possible, once PayPal decides to lift the suspension.

Thirdly, I would like to apologize for this issue that we are experiencing with PayPal. Although it is not my fault, I’m the one responsible for this campaign. And I apologize if any of you have donated within the last 24 hours and are not sure whether your donations went through. The last donation received was on January 13, 2022, at 8:22pm UTC. After that, PayPal suspended my account from receiving any money, and so I have no way of knowing what would have happened to your donations, if you had made it after PayPal’s decision to suspend. Unfortunately, they are our only option for international transactions at the moment. And I have no choice but to be patient.

Lastly, I ask you to please be patient with me as I do my best to resolve this issue with PayPal. This is not going to stop us from helping out the families in need. Olivier and I have already started the process of rebuilding Liezl’s family’s house. Theirs is the first house that we will be working on. We are going to buy the first set of materials to start the reconstruction, thanks to your donations!

We have set this campaign to receive more than our minimum target because the more donations we receive, the more families can benefit. And we intend to help out as many families, who were severely affected by the typhoon, as possible. We will update you once it is possible to continue with the donations. Please bear with us.

We will post pictures up soon. Stay tuned as we will be regularly posting updates here.
