Thank you very much for your generous donations; we have raised $5000! I am overwhelmed by your support.

I have received messages from donors sharing their concerns about the donations not appearing on the fundraising page. I have contacted customer service, and here is their response:

Thank you for contacting Customer Support.

Due to recent changes in the way PayPal operates, some payments made via crowdfunding platforms, including our own, may become subject to a clearing period (particularly over weekend periods). This means that even if funds have left a donor's account, they could still take several working days to be approved and cleared by PayPal.

Once PayPal clears the funds they notify us electronically and the payment is updated on the campaign page.

Fundraisers are sometimes able to clear donations quicker by logging into their PayPal account and checking notifications and in particular any requirements to acknowledge or process a payment.

If there are no such notifications or instructions from PayPal for the fundraiser, PayPal will clear the funds as soon as possible. We do not have the ability to intervene with this process.

Donors who have donated via their PayPal account can also speed up the clearing period for a donation by selecting the transaction in their recent PayPal activity and clicking the “Confirm” button to validate receipt and satisfaction with the order.

Please be assured, PayPal remains one of the safest and quickest donation methods on our site, however, as a responsible payment processor, they have to balance this with fraud prevention and other protective legislation for all users on crowdfunding platforms.
