Thank you so much!

Update posted by Chris Snook

The latter half of last week witnessed a convergence of milestone events. These were driven in part by the news that my 21 days SHN was coming to an end, contingent on me passing one final PCR test, with a 'release' possible the following day, Thursday 27th. This meant I had to get a move on, as there were 7.5 Kms. remaining to get to the 'Three Marathons' number of 126.6 Kms. I really didn't want to do any running on my check-out day so I thought I'd better nail the Kms outstanding in one hit. As many of you know this was managed and in a pretty good pace time of 6'32". One job done - Three Marathons in Three Weeks While Serving Singapore SHN in an Hotel Room. Later that same day we passed the 'Fundraiser Target' of SGD 5000 - Two jobs done! Overnight on Wednesday 26th I got the news on my PCR - Negative, I was going home tomorrow. Three jobs done!!!

This run and the fundraiser for Club Rainbow (Singapore) became all consuming during my period of 'self isolation'. It represented an important component of my daily routine and was largely responsible for making the experience not just bearable but enjoyable too. Overall the experience was positive - but I am glad to be out and back home.

A very important aspect of the run (if not the most important) was the fundraiser in support of Club Rainbow (Singapore). What can I say? Your support has been phenomenal and I really can't thank you enough. These are very challenging times and I recognise that for many, thoughts and priorities may very well be (and understandably) elsewhere - this makes the result even more remarkable. As at this morning the total amount pledged is in excess of SGD 6000.00. Outstanding! Thanks very much to everyone who has so kindly chipped in. I know I speak for everyone at Club Rainbow when I say your collective efforts are very genuinely appreciated as the incredible work they do is only possible through the generous support of people like you. So thank you most sincerely on their behalf as well.

We've got just a few more days to go before the challenge and the sponsorship window will finally close. If you wanted to make a donation but haven't yet found the time, please do so in the next couple of days. Thanks a lot.

Chris
