We have received encouraging news from the doctors today and it seems they see good progress and the signs of recovery we were all hoping for Elena.

Since the levels of pain are slowly diminishing, they are planning to take out her epidural tomorrow, so weaning her off that pain relief and onto others, less invasive painkillers.

Elena is still in the ICU, and the doctors anticipate her being there for another day or two. Her current level of fever doesn't seem to be a concern for the doctors, since kids have it normally as a reaction to surgery.

She has managed to eat something last night and this morning and so her IV drip has been taken out already.

The doctors tell us that our daughter keeps showing her usual positive attitude and strength, despite the pain she is still going through currently and after the extensive surgery on Monday.

All in all these are the news we have been hoping for Elena!
