Dear family and friends,

Firstly a huge thank you for the support you have shown over the past few weeks, it is so appreciated. I thought I would post an update on what's been happening in the background.

The Wednesday before last there was a call from Helen Joseph Hospital informing Noleen that she was to be at the hospital the following morning early for a CT scan. She had to wait a couple of hours and was super nervous as she was there alone but she was brave and the CT scan was eventually done. She has also managed to get an appointment with a specialist surgeon at Fourways hospital, that is a great win!! He specialises in cancer, tumours and specifically thyroid which is fantastic.

Tuesday last week was the appointment with the specialist surgeon at Fourways Life Hospital. His message was that he does not want to put Noleen through all the additional expenses of private hospital surgery when she is already 'in the system' and that there are many qualified and great surgeons at Helen Joseph Hospital (which we knew - the issue for us was getting a confirmed date for surgery) one which he served with previously, Dr Wolmarans who he highly rates. He said he would contact her and ask that she see Noleen. She then went back to Helen Joseph Hospital the following day, early. Went to the specialist clinic, which was packed full of other patients, scary. Dr Wolmarans was in surgery. So she popped downstairs to the CT scan department and asked for the CT scan results. All area's around the thyroid are clear of cancer, Praise the Lord, but the left lobe of the thyroid has the cancer and needs to be removed as soon as possible.

They have also requested that she go for a mammogram and to have the lymph glands checked as well as a Laryngoscopy. She then went back to the specialist rooms to wait for Dr Wolmarans (as they had told her she normally comes back after her surgeries) but she never came back that day, and Noleen went home. The following day she called the Specialist surgeon back from Fourways Life Hospital and told him that she tried to see Dr Wolmarans but was not successful and he said that he would ask his secretaries there to keep trying her to ask her to assist. Noleen will also do the same.

Thank you again for all your amazing support and prayers. Prayer is powerful!
