I met Rudy in Siam Reap, Cambodia where his sister used to sing in a band and he used to get occasional gigs of his own and did a good take on Lenny Kravitz 'Sistamamalover'.

He is from the Philippines and all good bands in Siam Reap were from Philippines. They also performed at Hard Rock Café.

Rudy and his sister used to sing and take care of one another as siblings and used to just keep enough for themselves and send all their earnings back home to support their children and parents.

I used to go to Pub Street few times a week to hear them sing as I stayed there for 22 days and we became good friends. Rudy was always ready to help. If I needed anything he would run around and get it done for me.

With covid 19, they had to head back to Philippines abandoning their livelihood. Rudy had to go and live with his in laws and had one room to the 4 of them which housed his 2 daughters and his wife.

He did odd jobs here and there and would somehow get by saying it was very difficult to find jobs.

Then one night his life changed. 16th December the house was in flames whilst they were sleeping.

They cried and cried to see their house being completely gutted down by the fire.

They were moved to a nearby shelter and are back again in their house after many days but they have to build it from scratch and there is no money. Infact all of Rudy's documents etc were also burnt in the fire.

He has written about it himself which you can read in the storyline.

He is back now to the burnt house after cleaning it up but there is no roof and they are eeking out a living.

With no money coming in and the situation dire he reached out to me and I told him that I will try to raise funds for him, if possible.

My sincere appeal to all of you who are reading it is if you help him in need it would be a great way to do something good for someone which will come back as a blessing. It always happens to me specially when you help an unknown person. What goes around comes around. It's that simple.
