The generosity shown to our family thus far has been extraordinary!

I wanted to give an update on why I started this fundraiser as I have heard how bad the state hospitals are but such nightmare stories have now become our reality.

Since my Papa has been submitted (Friday 23rd Oct) Drs go to see him but no further actions get taken. If that is not bad enough, he has already been through a leaking catheter resulting in him having to lay 2 days in a bed soaked in urine. Sadly it doesn't end there...

Yesterday I spoke to him and this is what he told me:

They have taken his clothes which means he is lying naked with only with a sheet to cover him.

There is a serious lack of medical attention given to his wounds, leaving it to become septic that may result in him possibly losing his leg completely.

The staff are not friendly, extremely careless and portray an attitude of not willing to help bring any sort of comfort or aid to the need of the patient.

People who have experienced a traumatic event like being shot do not need to be further traumatized by the complete lack of care and support from the medical assistants as well.

Hospitals are meant to bring healing and a hope of recovery! The state hospitals of South Africa just brings more fear and that is why we are desperately pleading for donations.

This fundraiser is our only hope of rescuing my Papa's leg and it seems his quality of life now as well.

Thank you for the love and support shown so far but we are still a journey away from being able to get my Papa proper medical aid.
