It's day 40 since tatay's admission to the hospital. He is slowly recovering. His pneumonia is getting better. He had some episodes of restlessness and confusion probably because of all his medication and the after effects of the general anesthesia post surgery. They administered some sedatives to calm him down. He is still drowsy because of the medication. They are feeding him through his J tube (a feeding tube directly inserted into his small intestine). However, his surgeon Dr Guinto advised us to try feeding him orally whenever his fully awake. So far, tatay had taken some sips of his milk and some apple juice. 😄. They will slowly try and give him some flavoured juices and soup. If he is able to take it they will escalate to puree food and hopefully to solid foods.
