Implementing a Digital Learning Platform from Kindergarten to Year 12

Update posted by Kevin McLaughlin

My Primary 5 HK student started this...My daughter. She's been cooped up with me for months now, since January 22. She has been offered just barely any interaction with her school since then. For the first few weeks there was nothing. Somewhere late March we were offered an opportunity to pick up her second semester books (original pick up date was Feb 3) though we only received a partial list and were only just able to pick up the rest of the books end of April. This Covid-19 situation has really highlighted the lack of an integrated system or platform here in HK working across mobile and desktop devices. No system integrating all aspects of what a school needs to manage for all attending students is in place. So, I went on a research rant.

I found the right platform to be implemented in HK. It is used by schools across Canada, the USA, all the way to New Zealand, Ministry-wide and certain locations of the American International School system. It incorporates all touch points required to run a school system whether in class or stuck at home! I've spoken to folks in other countries and it is seemingly not that much different in terms of lacking a truly integrated system.

The current on-line offering by HK schools is a Google page with 5 questions per subject for the week which only started mid to late February. Some schools are doing an occasional video session but those are few. You can surmise one question per day per subject for my daughter. There is no video interaction with a teacher for most schools and there is nothing that resembles a learning environment in general. Be it the communication, the learning or the teacher interaction; student requirements are not being met.

There needs to be a system that manages and integrates all aspects that are necessary for schools, students, teachers and parents to support learning, with one single sign-on. We need a different platform, …

I need support to acquire and cloud implement this platform. Then market and demo this platform once the software is online locally here in APAC. I'm willing to give up a year of work to pursue getting this implemented. Things need to be upgraded. I have spoken to and presented this platform to members of the Education system here in HK. They suggested this reach-out may be a viable platform for gaining support. They agreed it is necessary. I've spoken to folks in SG, AU, US, CA, NZ. as well as here. They also think they can benefit from this platform.

Help me get this set-up out here in APAC and I can get it spread throughout the region. Our Children need to walk into the 21st Century. Please Help!
