Update:

Samantha met with her doctor on Thursday the 16th and after had to go to the hospital for a Doppler test to make sure she didn’t have any blood clots in her leg. She got home around 7pm.

Doctor moved her surgery up to January 29th as well as explained the procedure to her. He will be going into her pelvis area to get bone for a bone graft mixing it with cadaver bone. Then removing the cement he put in where he removed her bone. A pocket should have formed around the cement by now. That’s where the bone will be placed. Then he’ll insert a femoral nail through my knee. This surgery will be very painful and the recuperation period will be anywhere from 6-12 months. Doctors also told her that there’s always a chance of a second fusion.

She will have to be very careful and eat appropriately for bone growth. I am praying that many will find it in themselves to give at this time. Samantha has a long road of healing before her.
