We are just about a week and a bit into my GoGetFunding Campaign and I have been liaising with many of the donors, including potential ones. There are a few things I would like to clarify as some questions have been asked.

I only started this campaign recently as I am a very private person. I knew that once I did this, many people would now have, as they say, the inside scoop on my condition. It is hard enough living with this, without having to explain to everyone I meet what is wrong with me and how I am.

It took me a long time to wrap my head around having this procedure as I couldn't imagine a mechanical pump on the inside of my body.

I have, however, exhausted my avenues of hope for a cure and believe me, I have tried everything. I have used all available oral medication and the various strains and forms of cannabis for pain relief. I even tried to stop taking all my pain medication all together, when a team of pain management doctors at Groote Schuur Hospital tried to convince me that the pain is all in my head, only to end up back at the emergency room.
