Mining in Palawan are suspension secretly lifted??? ?

Update posted by Bobby Chan

Berong Nickel Corporation had been suspended since June 2016 for negligently dumping laterite in the rivers and sea of Quezon, Palawan. Found to have inadequate and incorrect siltation ponds then, BNC sudddenly operates under the radar without any notice to civil society and PNNI who sits at the MMT and MRFC monitoring the mining company. It turns out that as early as November 2018, the Mines & Geosciences Board stealthily lifted the suspension without giving notice nor copies of the lifting to PNNI. The same was only discovered by PNNI last month. Why has BNC been allowed to operate when it already has numerous NOVs (notice of violations). But perhaps the bigger question is why was it allowed to operate in the first place when anyone can see just by looking at the drone shot, that the area is in old growth forests.
