Wiltshire’s maximum targets

Update posted by Wiltshire Against The Badger Cull

We just want to put this in perspective for everyone to understand the numbers involved.

Here in Wiltshire where they have been culling since 2017, with the three new zones in addition to the three existing zones within the county boundaries means that 90% of our county are now potential killing fields.

In terms of numbers - since 2013 when the cull began, the total number of badgers killed in every zone and county across the entire country was 67,000 up to December 2018.

This year they have decided the maximum target for the entire country is 64,000 - meaning they intend to kill almost as much in one period of one year than they have killed since 2013 in total.

For Wiltshire specifically the national target number of that 64,000 of that just over 12,000 of those badgers will be here in Wiltshire. That means a fifth of the total number killed nationally will be here on your doorstep, in the fields around your homes.

We have our work cut out, but we also have a dedicated, coordinated and organised army.

Please help us to help the innocent.
