We are sorry for the extremely late updates. We have been actively trying to get updates from the extended family but there was a lot of difficulty trying to get follow-up diagnosis in Indonesia so my aunt was brought to Malaysia last week (13th August) to get a diagnosis instead.

Diagnosis: She is confirmed to have stage 3 breast cancer.

The amount of money used for the diagnosis in Malaysia costs approximately Sgd $430 / Rupiah $4,400,000.

My aunt's children have discussed the costs with the specialist doctor but is advised that they should continue the treatment in Indonesia instead for convenience and money.

1. Costs - Treatment costs are not subsidized for foreigners. It is calculated that the treatment costs in Malaysia would be more than what it would be in Indonesia.

2. Foreign land - They do not have any accommodations there while getting treatment in Malaysia. Which means they have to travel back and forth which is very inconvenient for my aunt.

Sad to say, whether the treatments in Indonesia would continue to be effective for my aunt (as proven by their professionalism and efficiency in the recent months), it is the best that we can do for her now. We still hope to get more donations so that they can fund for the treatments. The hospital requires upfront payment before any treatment can be done.
