Background of Arriane's Case

Update posted by Alex Dogma Jr

Arriane was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) in Jan 2015 at age 10. She was administered Novartis Imatinib then on continous maintenance. Her case progressed to Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in May 2018. She has not returned to school since then due to the needed bone marrow transplant (BMT), and the series of chemotherapy prior the BMT where she completed both induction and consolidation phases until she is on remission in October 2018. Arriane and her mom (the BMT donor) went through a full month preBMT laboratory test in November 2018. Thereafter, Arriane was finally admitted at St Lukes QC in Dec 6 for her BMT procedure. Unfortunately her ALL case relapsed and so she had to go through an intensive chemotherapy and have since been in the hospital (St Lukes, Asian, and PCMC) until mid Feb 2019 as her lungs got affected also. She recovered then and was on a 2nd remission. It didn't take long and her aggressive cancer case brought her on 2nd ALL relapse leading to her hospital confinement since April 28 up to present. She completed another intensive phase of chemotherapy but had to stay in the hospital for her blood counts are falling. Doctors advised she should really now undergo BMT once on 3rd remission as a 3rd relapse will again worsen her case.
