Go with the Flo! ......

Update posted by Andrew Carter

I would like to be able to give my story as this young lady has...............

33 Year old Henley Hughes from Melton Mowbray, is the proud owner of an eye catching Hot Pink Frontier V6! Nicknamed Flo, her powerchair is Henley’s access to the outdoors, allowing her to pursue a varied range of activities.
A keen photographer and member of the Camera Club, Henley relies on her powerchair to take her to unique and interesting locations. Getting out into the wilderness has allowed her to take some great photo’s, some of which are entered into competitions. Henley has achieved great success with her photography and continues to develop her skills, attending workshops and groups.

Having recently moved into a lovely new home, Henley lives with her 2 dogs – Lotti and Mipit. Mipit is her fully qualified assistance dog and is a great asset to Henley, helping her both around the home and ensuring Henley is safe when they are out. Her other dog Lotti, is an Agility Dog and keeps Henley busy at events and shows. Lotti excelled in competition when she was very young and continues to do so.
Lotti & Mipit are Henley's trusted companions

After years of pain and discomfort Henley was recently diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in both knees. This meant major surgery for her and causes much of her mobility issues. As well as this, Henley also suffers from Dystonia, a neurological condition causing the loss of muscle coordination. Relying on a wheelchair to get her out of the house, Henley knew that a standard wheelchair or scooter wouldn’t be enough to allow her to do the things she is most passionate about.
Henley believed that her mental health was suffering from the limitations she was experiencing, so in 2018, with the help of her family, decided to search for alternative powerchairs and discovered All Terrain Wheelchairs.

Henley met with Mark from All Terrain Wheelchairs, at her home and set about testing out the powerchairs. The demonstration took her around her local area, allowing her to see the chairs in the places where she most wanted to be. Initially trying out all 3 models that are offered, Henley quickly settled on the Frontier V6. The V6 offered her the flexibility for use inside as well as outside. The demonstration chairs showed Henley all of the features that are available, allowing her to select which features she would need. Henley felt that Mark, who performed the demonstration, was very clear, non pushy and as she is Autistic, was very easy to understand.

Choosing the Frontier V6, Henley was pleased by the wide colour choices offered and selected Hot Pink! Henley’s new chair arrived in October 2018 and since then, she has been out virtually everyday. She has been able to go to the shops independently, she has been able to go to her social club and attend more dog agility classes. She feels safe when out, comfortable and has even been out in wet weather, feeling confident that the chair will perform. Henley and her family were able to go to their favourite Norfolk beach and have visited nearby Rutland Water, enjoying quality time together.

Henley’s Mum and Dad live locally and Dad Chris, currently cares for Henley’s Mum Kath. Knowing that Henley has a safe reliable powerchair, and can get out independently, has given Chris the peace of mind to be able to spend more time at home with Kath.

Henley has said that she wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the powerchair to other people. Thanks to its durability, versatility and ability to go anywhere with ease, the powerchair has opened new doors for her!
