Results of Scans and Surgery estimate

Update posted by Braveheart Animal Rescue

Well Emma had her scans on Wednesday. The initial image shows a large amount of granular fecal material filling part of the colon. In layman terms she's full of poop. The good news is that unlike some other cases she does have a small hole that has formed to allow her to release some poo in small amounts. The bad news is it isn't where her actual rectal exit should be. It is actually formed below where it should be and just above where she urinates. In worst cases this normally forms where the dog urinates so they have both coming out of the same area. The surgery will involve closing up the hole that was formed and redirecting it to where it should be and connecting the colon to the correct exit. This should help her to expel what needs to be expelled normally without any adverse effects. Of course there is always a chance that she may need diapers for life however her outlook is very encouraging that this will not be the case. The next step will be this corrective surgery however we need your help as the cost is quite high. Please if you can help by donating even a little bit and if not please share her story so that perhaps others can help.
