TRACHEOSTOMA CREATION

Update posted by Christian Paolo Aliermo

Good day,

This is Tin, sister of Paolo. As you well know, my brother was admitted last Monday, October 29 due to throat irritation and uneasiness of breathing. On the following day, the doctor has recommended and cleared him for Tracheostoma creation. This means his tube can now be removed but a modified hole will be done as replacement. Such operation is needed because prolonged exposure to intubation may cause permanent damage to his lining in trachea, which could aggravate his case. Subsequently, the operation was done last Wednesday, October 31, 2018 without second thoughts. Unfortunately, there were some complications. My brother still had a hard time breathing despite a larger airway in his neck due to mucus accumulation. Hence, the doctor recommended to put back the tube temporarily. The good thing is that his tube can be removed with no surgery needed once stabilized. To add up, my brother was discharge today, November 03, 2018, from the hospital.

With that being said, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your donations. It has greatly helped my family with our hospital expenses. Please help continue to share my brother's fundraising campaign for our end goal is to bring him to Metro Manila. Again, we appreciate your kindness and may God Bless you more!

#GetPaoloToManila

Sincerely,

Tin Aliermo
