Thank YOU!
Update posted by YASMINE KHATERThank YOU!
Two nights ago, I sat on the floor in the midst of my things trying to pack. At the end of the day, I am Mediterranean so anything under 10 degrees is cold, so you can imagine -10 is pretty petrifying.
As I sat there, I started to tear up because I am beyond grateful for every SINGLE one of you to contribute to making this dream possible.
Before I applied to the 2041 expedition, I was in a massive funk, feeling frustrated and uninspired. My aunts health was deteriorating and the toxic environment I was in, didn’t help.
I started get the feeling tightness in my chest on a regular basis.
It wasn’t until I was catching up with my friend Rasha and I was sharing how this pain kept on recurring. She was in shock, and said “Yasmine, you are having panic attacks”.
I knew she was right.
But there was so much going on, I didn’t give myself time to even know what it was. She told me to take a time out, but couldn’t so she suggested doing something inspiring.
That same week, my friend posted a picture of Robert Swan on instagram. That, plus the article of how we only have 12 years left, made me linger in my mind for a while.I told Rasha about it, and she convinced me to do it.
And not only that, she decided she was coming too.
I want 100% clear what this expedition would mean for me, I knew I wanted to make an impact. And along this past 6 months, I met people who challenged me too think bigger.
The mini documentary will actually be part of a series where I am collaborating with Women in Tech and it’s already been endorsed by the World Bank and UNDP.
I have no idea what will happen next, but I know all this would not have been possible without your contribute.
I will posting about my expedition on instagram, facebook and linkedin.
So let’s connect if we are not already
Much love
