We did it.

So far we have received $675.00 by seven donors.
I am pleasantly surprised by the high amount of donation per donor but also somewhat disappointed by the number of people who followed through with their pledge to help.
In anyways, this amount we have so far will help us to get started and I will be meeting this week with the teacher and the seamstress to get get the first load of fabric and material we will be needing.
A big Thank You to the good people who have helped so far to full-fill the dreams for these Maya children.

Wow, I still can’t believe how fast this project got funded. Thank you very much ! This coming Friday we have a meeting Doña Bernaldina who presides over the council of family affairs in the village. She will tell us on what style of uniform they have decided and of course they colors they chose. We will look into buying pre-made uniforms and have the seamstress putting on the logo of the school and the colors on the seams. This will speed up this process by a lot and the kids will get their uniforms even earlier.

I am really overwhelmed with gratitude as I would have never thought to get this project funded that fast. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all who have donated I drove out to meet with the teacher this morning to tell him the good news. I also met with Doña Bernaldina who presides over the council of family affairs in the village. She now will meet with the mothers and on Friday we get together again to get the logo of the school and she will tell us on what colors for the uniform they decided. We will then go to Cancun to get the fabric and I will have to find a service who can make the logos so that they can be sewn on.
