Dear friends,

I just wanted to give you a quick update. I’m feeling pretty nervous ahead of this first full marathon attempt, but thankfully physically I feel pretty good. Keeping fingers crossed that health, weather, and everything else is favourable on Sunday.

In addition (and this might explain some of the nervousness), I'll be running the marathon in this outfit, as a form of tribute to victims and in support of survivors of Kerala floods.

This may well be the world’s first marathon attempt in this traditional dress (called a mundu in Kerala), but because I haven’t had too much opportunity to train in this (for obvious reasons) I still have no idea whether it will stay in place over 42 kms.

Anyway, I’m committed now and hope that I can pull it off (not the mundu of course) !
